Art - "Picture This"

Term 2 and a new topic called "Picture This" which will allow you to get to know one artist in detail.


The artist will be Henri Rousseau and his painting "Surprised! Tiger in a Storm" 1891

Henri Rousseau lived in Paris all his life 

He never saw a real Tiger.

We have all seen a Tiger (if not for real then pictures or film) and will recognise one instantly but Henri Rousseau had to use paintings/ drawings or verbal descriptions/museums/skins.

Henri Rousseau drew a representation of what how he thought a Tiger may be.
